2024 Beekeeping Workshops
Few things to keep in mind when coming to our Workshops.
- We have live honeybee hives on location! Do not get close (within 10ft) to our beehives without proper gear and a Moran Family Farm beekeeper. Honeybees are not aggressive but will defend their hive if they feel threatened.
- We suggest you wear thick pants (jeans or overalls are best) and closed shoes (not sandals) boots are recommended. We have some full bee suits and some jacket/helmet bee suits and they will not cover your legs. We try to be prepared for whatever you wear, but we only have so many full suits. All equipment is provided.
- Do NOT wear perfume! Or anything scented!
- Wear your hair up or in a braid if long
- Waiver of Liability Disclaimer must be signed by anyone coming onto the farm before attending our workshops, please fill it out and hand it to your Workshop Beekeeper (I will have some onsite as well) – DOWNLOAD HERE
- There is an outdoor camping restroom on premises if needed
- Workshops start on time, please make sure you come 10-15 minutes before it begins.
- Workshops are not recommended for children under 12 years of age, Parent/Guardian must be onsite with children under 18.
- You can schedule an appointment just for you and your child(ren) by emailing sarah@moranfamilyfarm.org, we will do our best to accommodate you.
